Samata Sainik Dal

History

Because of the announcement of the satyagraha of Mahad, letters of threats and dirty abuses to Dr. Babasaheb used to come from Mumbai and outside Mumbai. The Bhim Sevak Dal was formed to counter the threat to Dr. Babasaheb and to prevent any untoward incident during the Satyagraha. It was founded on March 3, 1927, by the people of the school in Parel where Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar lived. Initially, the number of members was 15, when the British forcibly removed from the army numerous Mahar soldiers who had been recruited into their army (as per the proverbs Garaj Sarva and Vaidya Maro). He came forward to protect Babasaheb, he protected Babasaheb as well as protected and propagated his meetings and meetings. Some called it the Dr. Ambedkar Sevak Dal.

Dr. Babasaheb did not want a party in the name of work, but in the name of work. Since equality was the only goal before Babasaheb, he announced the formation of the Social Equality Army (Samta Sainik Dal), a strong fighting force against inequality, in his speech on the day of the Battle of Chavdar Lake, 19 March 1927. Since the formation of the Samata Sainik Dal, the Dal has functioned as a conglomeration of the outcaste Hitakarani Sabha, the Swatantra Mazdoor Party and the Scheduled Caste Federation founded by Dr. Ambedkar. The Samata Sainik Dal was Babasaheb’s fighting force, but there was no separate constitution for it or a separate flag for the force. This convention of the Samata Sainik Dal coincided with the 1942 convention held in Nagpur to mark the formation of the Scheduled Castes Federation.

As a supplementary organization to the Scheduled Caste Federation, the Samata Sainik Dal was given the responsibility of party work, and it was decided that the force would work under the federation. The Indian-level committee of the Samata Sainik Dal was elected in the session, the same constitution committee was formed.

It took three years for the constitution committee to draft the constitution of the force. Dr. Babasaheb wrote many letters to Dadasaheb Gaikwad regarding the Dal incident. Finally, Secretary M. M. Sasalekar prepared the constitution of the Samata Sainik Dal with the help of Mumbai leaders. When Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar came to Mumbai in May 1945, he was staying in a special train compartment at Boribunder station. Sasalekar along with the soldiers met Dr. Babasaheb and gave the incident for his approval. By making necessary changes to it, Dr. Babasaheb gave a separate constitution for the Samata Sainik Dal within three days of his stay.

Also, the Samata Sainik Dal was run according to military order, so the Samata Sainik Dal had to have a flag. Sasale Kar kept a chart with a set of flags with Dr. Babasaheb for approval. One of the flags in the chart is signed by Babasaheb with the date May 6, 1945 written as Adoption. Since the Samata Sainik Dal was a force, it was not given an independent existence. After the Mahaparinirvana of Dr. Babasaheb, the way his institutions and organizations were divided, each of the Samata Sainik Dal also started its separate work.
